Massachusetts 4-H Budget Adobe Acrobat

The Massachusetts Extension 4-H Program relies on diverse sources of funds: the budget is comprised of funding from public and private sources. Public sources include federal Extension funds from USDA, state funds provided through the University of Massachusetts and county funds provided by Barnstable, Plymouth and Norfolk Counties. Private funds include fees, contracts and gifts provided to the University.

In addition, financial support for 4-H is provided by the Massachusetts 4-H Foundation and through extensive fundraising at the county and club levels. These funds do not pass through the University and are not fully shown below.

In FY04 the 4-H Program was significantly impacted by a budget reduction and the restructuring of the program into two programs: 4-H and Community, Families and Youth. In December 2005 the CFY Program was merged with 4-H to create a stronger program base. For FY06, funds allocated to the former CFY Program are shown separately only to provide information on the type and extent of the funding. CFY and 4-H funds are currently being fully utilized to support an expanded Massachusetts 4-H Program.
