4-H Fairs
4-H fairs reflect the agricultural roots of Massachusetts. The numerous 4-H fairs and horse shows provide an opportunity to view working farm animals and horses up close, market animal competitions, and many other farm products. Bring the family (and your camera) for exciting fun filled times learning about farming, the source of our food and many other items that we use in our daily lives. Starting in late spring through early fall, it is the time for the 4-H fairs and horse shows. 4-H members use this time to show what they have accomplished, learned, or completed up to this point. There are three main parts that 4-H has a presence in, they are the club exhibit, the individual projects and the animal shows. Purposes of 4-H Shows:
The final segment for the 4-H fair season is the New England 4-H Show at the Eastern States Exposition in West Springfield, MA. 4-H youth are selected to present their project animals (beef cattle, dairy cattle, dairy goats, dogs, horses and sheep) as well as their visual presentations at the New England Center. So, this summer, come to the 4-H fairs and horse shows! Join in the fun and celebration of an American tradition.
